Visual Merchandising - Peter Alexander

Back in 2009 I was the visual merchandiser for a company from Australia called Peter Alexander.  They had just started to branch out into America and had 3 retail stores.

I was also in charge of graphics for the windows and creating guides for the sales staff each time there was a new collection rolling out.  The guide taught the staff where the new product would be placed within the store as well as how it fit modern trends, what it would look like and the concept of the new collection.
I very much enjoyed styling the mannequins with the merchandise in the store.

This is one collection that I really enjoyed merchandising and working with.
Merchandising is a lot like decorating. You have to take elements, such as clothing in this example and move them around until they are appealing to the eye and make sense.  The difference with merchandising and decorating is that in merchandising you have to always be thinking of the customer and placing things in a way that makes people want to buy.
