Photography - L.A. again

I decided to drive around L.A. one day and just take pictures of things I found interesting.  Here are a few of the things I saw.

Designing - "Loveline"

Here's a set I created for the radio talk show loveline.  You can watch it here:

The overall concept of the room was sexy and chill.
The entire room was empty when I started except for the giant table the hosts sit at and the black couch.  I wanted the room to be back lit with purple as the dominant color and pink as the accent.  I created a dominant wall by hanging strip fluorescent lights that were drilled into 2x4's and attached the 2x's to the wall to get the height I wanted.
I hung 2 types of white curtains.  One was thicker than the other.  The second layer of curtains was sheer to add texture and depth to the walls.  I hung purple and magenta sheets of gel to get the colors I wanted.
For the accent walls I used hanging bulbs to give the light a more spotted look and less of a geometric/linear style.
I bought minimal decor and accessories but some to go with the color and feel of the room.  I added a credenza and bought battery powered candles to heighten the "mood".
The china balls were the way the studio lights hosts and guests, I did not do those.

Production Design for Genetic Engines "Into the Cold" music video

This is a collage I created for a music video for Black Noise Industries.  It was used as a clue wall for a detective.  I'm really into Anthropologie so I think their style influences a lot of what I do, especially in this instance.  I also dressed all the set you can see in the video below.

Here is the music video:
I sourced the clue-like sketch pad and commissioned an illustrator to draw a few images into it to look like it had been used.  I also found all props (mugs, guns, etc.)  And I dressed the set to look lived in.
