Production Designing - "For Who I Am"

Here's a short I production designed about a woman who is trapped in her relationship and the events that take place during her journey.  There were 3 locations during this shoot.

This location was the photo studio:
I dressed with decor that was my own, the owners and things I purchased specifically for the shoot.  There was a lot of rearranging that happened to make the space look the way it does.
This is a model for one of the scenes that take place on the backdrop I purchased and rigged up.  I just really liked the photo.

We projected an image throughout the studio onto the leads face and body as she approached her husbands work space.

The blue bookshelf was my favorite because I got to arrange it with vintage cameras and cool, small photographic items.

Here's the seamless backdrop I put up and added the chair for the scene.

This is the main actors work area in his photo studio.  I arranged the objects on the table very meticulously, I wanted symmetry and balance.

This was the second location.  It was held at a bar, I spent most of the day rearranging tables and chairs and lighting candles.

This is the third location.   It was a beautiful home that luckily had a lot of decor to work with.  I did some rearranging and editing of pieces on the shelves.

The leading lady was an interior designer so I arranged her "workspace" in the same fashion I had done her husbands desk in his studio.

I just really love this image.  It reminds me of Sophia Coppola's movie "Somewhere".

Production Designing - "Gambler"

This is one of two sets I designed for the short "Gambler".  It's a story of a young couple who take their chances on a bet.  The bar itself was not set up the way I thought a bar should look so I spent most of my time rearranging bottles, glasses and chairs to give it the look I wanted.  I thought of adding some color through drinks at the bar and adding lights behind the bar.

Decorating - "A Home For The Holidays"

Here are some photos from a special on CBS.  It was a different type of decorating than what I am used to, a bit more minimal and much more festive.  It was great to see all the different musicians with their bands.  I helped to set the stage in between acts, I worked with the stage hands and art director on this project.
Justin Beibers concert was  held at a different location than the rest of the show.  It was in a church, which helped with the ambiance since there was so much stained glass.  We added the seasonal decor.

Production Design and DP work - "Handsome Skywalker"

Here's a music video I designed and actually shot myself.  The exterior shots didn't need much design work but I did create the world for the interior shots.

Set Dressing Dr. Drew's Frat House

This is a set I helped decorate for "Life Changers" with Dr. Drew.  It was an episode about college kids and how drinking effects them.
"Life Changers" was a day time talk show that could be seen on the CW. It lasted one season.

Photography - Personal and random

Here's a couple of random shots.  I enjoy taking pictures in my spare time as a hobby.  I believe that photography and decorating go hand in hand because to do both well you need to understand composition and design.

Set Decorating - "April Apocalypse"

Here's Artie's room, a set I decorated for a feature.  It was one of many sets, but this was the hero set.  We rented and bought furniture.  Most of the decor was the designers personal items.  It was a lot of fun to put together.   The character lives in his parents garage that was converted into a studio apartment.  He has a bedroom, a lounge area and a radio station.

 Here's his radio station:

Interior Design - Eric's Place

This is a condo I decorated.

Set Decorating - "Scary Tales"

"Scary Tales" was a show that aired on 3net, which is I believe owned by Discovery Channel.  It aired back in 2011.  It was a show that was a retelling of fairy tales, told in a dark way.
To see a clip of one of the episodes click the link below:

This is a set for the witch in Snow White.  I decorated this whole set as well as scenic painted the walls. We used foam and acetone to carve out the stone then painted to make them look real.

This is one set out of many I decorated for "Scary Tales".  It is Rapunzels room when she is stuck in the tower.  I created the bed frame, the quilt on the bed and I decorated the whole set.
The tone in the room is Rapunzel went crazy being locked up in that tower since she was a baby.  We distressed the walls to make it look like she went mad.  We wanted the room to feel like she still had some of her own kid stuff in it and things were starting to fall apart and were dirty.  Birds had moved in and started creating homes, the walls were cracking and crumbling, and furniture was falling to pieces.

This is the seven dwarves cottage.  We created a life size cottage as well as a miniature to make it look realistic for snow white to stand in and look giant.  I decorated both of these sets as well as built up the walls to give them their look and helped choose paint color.

This is a set from the pied piper.  I decorated this set as well as the walls to give it depth.  I added moss to  cracks and gaps left from the wood in the walls. I scenic painted the chimney as well.
